As a working mom of two, my time is very limited and is unfortunately largely dedicated to doing things I don’t particularly get much pleasure out of: laundry, groceries, cleaning toilets … you get the picture. Finding time to decorate, or even think about updating the rooms of my house is nearly impossible.
So, I got pretty excited when Graham & Brown approached me to review some of their wallpaper products.
My bedroom was in need of some revitalization therefore without hesitation it became my room of choice to test the product. Now, keep in mind, I have never put up wallpaper before. In fact, I have left any painting or wallpapering to others due to my clumsiness and talent for making a complete mess of anything DIY-related. By no surprise, I was a bit nervous in testing the product.
Thankfully, the Graham & Brown website provides a user-friendly video tutorial on wallpaper preparation and application. After watching the video and a trip to the hardware store to buy wallpaper paste and a roller, I was ready!
Strip by strip, my husband and I applied the paper with ease and within one hour, my entire wall was done and my room was TRANSFORMED. I am not exaggerating, have a look:
Based on my experience, here are a few tips:
- Pick a room that needs an accent wall. Graham & Brown offer a wide-range of trendy and high-quality wallpaper that would add style to any room in your house.
- Make sure you have all the tools necessary for your wallpaper of choice. In my case, I chose one that required wallpaper paste, but there are plenty of styles that offer different application methods. Handy guidance for all types of wallpaper preparation, application and removal can be found on the Graham & Brown website.
- I suggest doing the job with a partner because a) one can apply it; b) the other can trim the excess paper; c) company is always nice.
- If you’re having a glass of wine at the same time (why wouldn’t you?) just be sure to keep it far away from the paper!
